Wind notes, kept on the back of a receipt
Three notes for a windy afternoon on the hill, written down so I stop relearning them.
Every trip up the hill with the kite ends with me remembering something I already knew. So here they are, copied from the back of a receipt that has been in my coat for a month.
Watch the grass for a full minute before deciding the wind is good. Stand where nothing upwind is taller than you. Start winding in the moment you think about going home, not ten minutes later.
None of this is expert advice. It is just what worked on one hill, with one small kite.
